Gentle Men!

Gentle Men!

Reading: Numbers 12:1-16
"Let your gentleness be known to all men;
the Lord is near" (Phil 4:5)

Gentleness or meekness and patience have often made a couplet in the Scriptures (Col 3:12; 1 Tim 6:11). Among the word pictures for "gentleness" in the Bible, two are prominent: One is that of a shepherd "gently leading the mother sheep with their young" (Isa 40:11c); the other is that of a mother "gently feeding and caring for her own children" (1 Thess 2:7b). When we decide to follow Jesus, He enrolls us in the School of Gentleness. He does not teach us from textbooks. As a role model He stands before us beckoning us, "Learn from Me, because I am humble and gentle" (Mt 11:29).

Isaac exemplified in gentleness in his patience with those who quarrelled with him over the wells (Gen 26:15-22). He kept yielding until there was no more quarrel. Gentleness does not fight for rights. Later Jesus taught, "If anyone takes away your shirt, give him your coat, too!" (Mt 5:40).

Without a spirit of gentleness we cannot be patient with the faults of others. Apostle Paul admonished the Galatian Christians, "Dear brothers and sisters, if another Christian is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path" (Gal 6:1). David had to pay heavily for his sin (Prov 6:29), but God's generosity to him is seen in the choice of Bathsheba, among the wives of David, to be Solomon's mother (2 Sam 12:24), eventhough centuries later Matthew wanted to still call her as Uriah's wife (Mt 1:6). Jesus does not break a bruised reed or quench a smoking flax (Mt 12:20).

Gentleness is indispensable to those in leadership responsibilities. The temptation to crush the opposers with authority and power will always be there. Moses was a great leader. Matthew Henry (1662-1714) comments, "When God's honour was affected, as in the case of the golden calf, Moses acted as a lion. When his own honour was touched, as in the matter of Aaron and Miriam backbiting him, he was mild as a lamb" (Num 12:3).

Kadaisi Nimidathil Arpudham

Christian life is a race

Christian life is a race, full of hurdles and hindrances, ups and downs, thorns and bruises, sufferings and shame. What encourages us is the honours and prizes that await us at the end of the race. Hebrews Chapter 12 discloses them-
1. We will see the Lamb of God, even the Lord Jesus, face to face, as the Finisher of our faith at the finishing point! (v2). He started the race for us and now He will be there to receive us with hands open.
2. We will enter the joy of the Lord (v2). The end of the race is eternal bliss. No more tears, sorrow or death. It's joy, joy and only joy-never ending!
3. Jesus "sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God" (v2). So shall we sit with Him on His Throne! (Rev 3:21). Our eternal occupation will be worship. No prayer, no preaching, but only praise!
4. Our sanctification will be complete-we will partake of God's holiness in all fullness (v10). We shall be transformed and be just like Him. We will enjoy the deliverance from the very presence of sin.
5. We will see the invisible God (v14). God who dwells in unapproachable light will then dwell with us literally. We shall be His people and He will be our God in every sense (Rev 21:3).
6. We shall fully enjoy "the blessing" of blessings, even our birthright as the children of God (vv16,17). "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit" (1 Cor 2:9,10). What is revealed now will be fully realised then!
7. Finally, we shall be serving God as kings and priests in His unshakable Kingdom forever and ever (v28). In all earthly races, people receive a cup or cash. But in the Christian race we will be receiving a Crown- "a Kingdom!" Unlike the races in sportsfield, the faith race is not a competition but completion! All can make it-not just one or two!

"My strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor 12:9

"My strength is made perfect in weakness."  2 Cor 12:9

THE more the believer feels his weakness, the more should he
expect his Saviour to appear for and strengthen him.  The
strength of Jesus is imparted, enjoyed, and displayed in our
sorest trials and most distressing seasons.

Never was Abraham so strong, as when offering up his beloved
Isaac upon the mount; never were the martyrs so courageous, as
when in prison they felt their entire weakness, cried to Jesus
for strength; and depending on His faithfulness and love, left
all and went to the stake.  Then they could exclaim, "None but
Christ.  None but Christ."  "Farewell life, welcome the cross of
Christ."

Beloved, let us walk by faith, not by feeling; when we feel
weakest, the strength of Jesus is nearest, and He magnifies His
mercy by giving power to the faint, and increasing the strength
of the weak.

Let us depend on Him, for we can do all things through Christ who
strengtheneth us.  He is our strength, a very present help in
trouble.  The Lord is our strength and song, He also is become
our salvation.

Saviour, on earth, I covet not,
That every woe should cease;
Only if trouble be my lot,
In Thee let me have peace.
Thy grace and strength display in me,
Till I arrive at perfect day.

From each Family!

From each Family!

Reading: 1 Samuel 1:9-28
"For this child I prayed ... He will belong to the Lord his whole life"
(1 Sam 1:27,28)

God had only one Son and He sent Him as a missionary-martyr to this world. If you have two children, you have one too many to give away to serve the Lord! Jesus was most precious to the Father (Prov 8:27-30). The Father was ready to sacrifice His daily delight for the sake of the "sons of men" because He "so loved the world" (Jn 3:16). There was nothing more precious to God than His Son. But He spared Him not! (Rom 8:32). Can we do less to save our fellowmen?
Isaac (meaning "laughter") was the daily delight of the old couple Abraham and Sarah. When God demanded that they sacrifice their sole joy, Abraham hesitated not a moment because he loved God more than he loved his son. Abraham was rewarded. Abraham got back his "laughter," now sanctified. Anyone who leaves anything for the sake of the Gospel shall receive a hundredfold (Mt 19:29).
God told Moses, "Set apart for me all the firstborn; it is Mine" (Ex 13:2). If only Christian parents the world over had given away their firstborn to serve God, the world would have been evangelised long long ago. We are two boys to our parents and I am the eldest. My parents were largely responsible for my becoming a missionary. I stepped out to serve God fulltime in 1975 on the 3rd of this month.
You ask, "How can I send my son or daughter to the ministry without a call?" Did you get a call through a vision or a voice to make him or her a doctor or an engineer? Why this partiality when it comes to God and His Kingdom? There was never a time in the history of the Church when there were too many missionaries or preachers (Mt 9:37). Send that brilliant child, or the one who earns well, to God's work.
Zacharias and Elizabeth were childless till their old age. When God blessed them with a baby boy they let him "go" to make a people ready for Christ's first coming (Lk 1:7,13,14,17,80). Shall we let our children "go" all over the world to prepare people for His Second Coming? Let there be a missionary going forth from each family!

Power of Christ

I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

( 2 corin 12:9-10)

Paul's thorn-in-the-flesh experience brought him to the position where

he could fully allow the strength of Christ to be his strength.. Some people today will

claim, "Troubles makes you strong." They are wrong.. There is nothing inherent about troubles

that results in making us strong emotionally and spiritually... When we rely upon Christ Jesus in our

times of trouble, He makes us strong. He imparts HIS strength to us and as we receive

His strength, we are made strong..

Garbage ?

"We bless those who curse us. We are patient with those who abuse us. We respond gently when evil things are said about us.
Yet we are treated like the world's garbage, like everybody's trash-right up to the present moment" (1 Cor 4:12,13).

Big mission field? or an enormous waste of time?

Question: "Should a Christian use social networking tools (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, blogs, etc.)?"

Answer:
Hundreds of millions of people are running toward social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to participate in the relational components of the Internet. Are these networks the next big mission field or an enormous waste of time? Should a Christian participate in social networking? The answer to these questions should be determined by whether we can honestly ask God to bless and use our actions for His own good purposes. "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). If we are willing to let God use our participation for His glory, we have freedom to participate.

Christians who choose to participate in social networking should be aware of the negative aspects of social networking. It should be remembered that not everyone on the internet has pure motives, and we should use safety precautions, utilize the privacy settings, and be selective as to who is accepted as a 'friend' or 'fan.' Parents should regularly interact with their children and be active participants in their child's use of social networking sites. In addition, Christians should be aware of the danger of narcissism (excessive self-love and preoccupation with self) inherent in self-oriented sites. Studies have shown that overuse or wrong motives in social media participation can breed narcissism. When we rely on social media sites primarily to promote ourselves or draw attention to ourselves, it is time to take a step back. It's wise to utilize accountability, encouraging spouse, family members, and Christian brothers and sisters to view our ! social networking activity and hold us accountable. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend's countenance."

It's also important to understand the impact our status, photo, comments, or blog posts may have in the future. It should be remembered that social networking sites involve publishing to the entire Internet, including family members, current and future employers, college admissions personnel, etc. The ramifications of any statements, both now and in the future, should be considered. It should be assumed that everything written is permanent and viewable by everyone. Furthermore, while maintaining relationships is important and healthy, addiction is not. Limiting the amount of time we devote to these social networking sites is both healthy and wise.

On the other hand, there are definitely positive aspects of social networking. For the Christian, social media sites can be an enormously productive mission field. Reconnecting with old friends and increasing our sphere of influence can lead to evangelistic opportunities unavailable elsewhere. Social media allows us to reenter the daily lives of people we may have lost contact with and open up new avenues for sharing Christ. As such, we can influence the views of others by what we post, bringing encouragement and spiritual guidance to others and using friends lists or Facebook status updates to pray regularly for friends and their needs. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Finally, social networking sites can engage spiritual seekers on the Internet, meeting those seekers where they are. Just like face-to-face evangelism, we can establish credibility and authenticity in the seeker's natural and comfortable environment, and then build on that foundation and share the love of Christ with new online friends.

Laos Profile

Laos
Laos [the Lao Peoples’ Democratic Republic] is one of the world’s poorest countries. It is spiritually hungry, but restrictions on Christian witness, persecution and a lack of mature church leadership hampers the spread of the gospel.
Population
Population: 6,368,481 [UK: 60,609,153]
Density: 27.6 per square km [UK: 250 per square km]
[Statistics: CIA World Factbook, 2006]
Although there are over 100 ethno-linguistic groups, the people of Laos fall into three main groups:
66% Lao or Lao Loum [lowland Lao]. They live mainly in the lowlands along the Mekong.
22% Lao Theung [upland Lao].
9% People of Tibetan origin, such as the Hmong and Yao, known as Lao Soung [highland Lao] who live in the northern mountains.
The remaining one per cent are mostly ethnic Vietnamese and Chinese. Only 15 per cent of the people live in towns. Over 80 per cent live in rural hamlets.
Religions
Buddhist 61.05%
Animist 31.2%
Non-religious/other 4.3%
Christian 1.85%
Muslim 1.1%
Chinese religions 0.5%
[Statistics: Operation World]
The principal religion of Laos is Theravada Buddhism, though it is often little more than a veneer over deep-seated animism. Laotian life and culture is heavily influenced by Buddhism. There are temples in Lao villages, but most non-Lao villages have no Buddhist presence.
Language
Laos lacks a common language. The country’s official language is Lao, but ethnic groups use their own languages and dialects. French and English are also spoken.
Geography
About the size of the UK, Laos is completely landlocked, bounded by China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar. Although 90 per cent of the country is mountainous, most life centres around the fertile Mekong River and its tributaries. The river irrigates rice paddies and provides some fish. However Laos is not self-sufficient in rice, and much food is imported from surrounding countries.
Climate
The climate of Laos is tropical with April temperatures averaging 29°C and January temperatures averaging 22°C.
History
The early history of Laos is sketchy. The original inhabitants of the area were the Mon-Khmer. The Lao and other Tai peoples gradually moved south from present-day Yunnan Province, China.
The ‘Kingdom of a Million Elephants’ was founded in the mid-fourteenth century when the Khmer king at Angkor married his daughter to a Lao prince, Fa Ngum. After him, the kingdom had a long period of peace. It expanded to control parts of North Thailand, was beaten back by the Burmese, ruled by the Vietnamese and eventually split into three states in 1713.
Hostilities between Thailand and Vientiane led to the conquering of the latter in 1778 and the other two states were forced into line. When Vientiane tried to reassert its independence in 1827, Thai forces completely destroyed it.
During the second half of the nineteenth century the French began to make their presence felt. A French military expedition in 1893 occupied the most important towns and by 1904 they controlled the whole country.
During the Second World War the Japanese occupied Indochina. After a brief period of independence, the French reoccupied the region in 1946.
In 1949 Laos became an independent state within the French Union but dissidents allied themselves with the pro-Communist Vietminh forces fighting the French in Vietnam. They invaded Laos in 1953 and quickly gained control of large areas.
The Geneva armistice ended this war in 1954. A coalition government was formed and in 1955 Laos joined the UN.
The US and USSR supported different factions in the inherently unstable government. Civil wars alternated with tentative governments and splits alternated with coalitions.
In the mid-1960s, Laos was drawn into the Vietnam War. North Vietnamese troops used jungle trails in eastern and southern Laos as routes to supply their forces fighting in South Vietnam, and US warplanes carried out increasingly heavy bombing attacks on the so-called Ho Chi Minh Trail, releasing two million tonnes of bombs.
Following Communist victories in Cambodia and Vietnam in 1975, the Laotian monarchy was abolished and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was proclaimed. The [Communist] Lao People’s Revolutionary Party is still the only legal political party in Laos. Most opposition leaders fled the country in the 1970s. Vietnamese troops remained in Laos to bolster the regime until 1990.
The country has struggled economically and discontent is widespread. Subsistence agriculture accounts for half of the GDP and provides 80 per cent of total employment. Recently the government has attempted to move towards an open-market economy.
Laos has no state social services. The country has a high infant mortality rate [8.7 per cent], and many urban areas lack modern sewerage and water facilities. Malaria, dysentery, parasitic diseases and respiratory infections are a major problem, and there is only one doctor for every 6500 people. Life expectancy is 55 years.
Christianity in Laos
The birth of the Church in Laos was slow and difficult. The ethnic Lao had no interest in the gospel, which was brought by a Presbyterian missionary in 1885.
However, the Khmu, slaves of the Lao, responded vigorously and the Khmu Church now numbers around 20,000 [5.3 per cent of all Khmu people]. In 1901 Swiss missionaries worked among Lao outcasts called Phi-Pop, men who are believed to communicate with evil spirits. They also responded and Christians in southern Laos now number around 15,000. However, since the early Christians were non-Lao and social outcasts, churches gained a stigma that has proved a barrier to those wanting to become Christians.

The Communists sought to eradicate all religion. Persecution of Christians was exceptionally harsh between 1975 and 1978. Suspected because of their association with Western missionaries, at least 90 per cent of the trained church leaders fled the country, and all Bible schools were closed.

Persecution and restrictions continued throughout the 1980s, with many believers imprisoned and fellowships quashed. Restrictions were eased in the 1990s but churches are suspected as potentially subversive and are still watched.

As conditions in Laos improved, Christians were among the refugees who returned from Thailand. Sadly, the lure of material goods and aid programmes have become another threat to the strength of the Church. Some church leaders jostle for prestige and the biggest aid budget.
The Bible was translated into Lao in 1927, but this is now archaic. A new translation was completed in the late 1990s. Some ethnic groups have portions of the Bible in their languages.
Restrictions remain on public evangelism, the building of churches and links with foreign organisations. It is said that the years since 1997 have been the most oppressive for Christians since the beginning of Communist government. Christians have been imprisoned and forced to sign statements rejecting their faith.
Buddhism is regaining its old influence and is heavily promoted by the Lao government.

JB Youth Camp (10th July 2010)

Dear Brothers & Sisters
Youths from various churches in johor bahru participated with lot of joy and expectations.
God used our team members mightly in various ways.

Our God answered all our prayers and honored all our efforts..

God's presence was so immense in the hall till from the morning....many of the youths were touched by His presence. Almost all of them were receiptive and openedup their problems during the whole day programme..

I could say, divine visitation took place. Though all of them come forward for the final prayer, around 10 youths personally attended by our volunteers by counsel and prayer.

Yesterday, during sunday service, we heard good testimonies from their parents also..And the whole congregation expressed their gratitude for this youth program

This was a good attempt of our new format.. Though some adjustments need to make, we will fine-tune in the next program. Overall it gives a good learning experience to our volunteers too.. please share your individual feed back (both sides ) and experiences also, that will help to plan better in the future.

A big thank you for all for your great effo
rts and co-operation !!

Do not gloat

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the LORD's wrath until he pleads my case and establishes my right. He will bring me out into the light I will see his righteousness.

"My grace is sufficient for thee." 2 Cor 12:9

"My grace is sufficient for thee." 2 Cor 12:9

YOU need look to no other quarter for help, relief, or comfort.
Jesus assures you that His grace is sufficient. You are welcome
to it. You are exhorted to have it. To be strong in the grace
which is in Christ Jesus.

It is sufficient to support you under every privation, to help
you over every difficulty, to strengthen you for every duty, to
mortify every lust, and to fill you with all joy and peace in
believing.

His grace is almighty, it is free, it is durable, it brings
salvation. Look not at difficulties, dangers, or thy own
weakness; but look to the free, powerful, and promised grace of
Jesus.

Go to His throne of grace this morning, on purpose to receive
grace for this day; go every day, and whenever you feel weak,
timid, or cast down. His grace was found sufficient for Paul,
for the martyrs and saints, in the deepest trials, and it will be
found sufficient for thee. He says, "I am the Lord thy God; open
thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Come boldly to the throne of grace, that ye may obtain mercy and
find grace to help you in time of need. Every one that asketh
receiveth." O Jesus, make good Thy word in me!

Thy strength in weakness is display'd;
My soul this truth can relish now:
A worm upon Thy power is stay'd;
The weaker he, the stronger Thou:
My hope, my joy, is this alone -
My strength is Christ, THE MIGHTY ONE

Feet of Faith

Reading: Romans 10:1-21
"By faith Abraham obeyed" (Heb 11:8)

If we trust someone, it becomes easy for us to do what that person bids us to do. The Book of Hebrews presents Abraham as a classic example of this truth. "By faith Abraham obeyed" (Heb 11:8). He trusted God as a "friend." "He was called the friend of God" (Js 2:23b). Jesus came to show us not only the fatherhood of God but also His friendliness. Obedience is such a pleasant and natural thing in homes where parents and children relate to each other as friends! Jesus during His life on earth was friend both of sinners and saints. He was nicknamed, "Friend of Sinners," and He called His disciples His friends. Friendship is basic to trust and confidence.
God's commandments come to us through His Word. We cannot obey them unless we believe them. Adam disobeyed God because he disbelieved what God had told him about the tree of knowledge. Unbelief was the root cause of the disobedience of the Israelites (Heb 3:18,19). It is of course not easy to maintain simple faith on God in this age which substitutes technology for theology. Today is observed as Technology Day in India. Evangelists are building Prayer Towers whereas Educationalists are erecting Technology Towers.
God is not against common sense or logical reasoning. They are very necessary to make right decisions and sound judgment. But everything should be submitted to the Word of God which alone stands unchanging forever. Peter was quite frustrated when after a whole night of toiling and moiling in the sea he caught nothing. Jesus was not a fisherman but a carpenter. When He asked Peter to throw the net into deep waters, the latter would not have found it easy to do so. But when he placed his fishing experience under the words of Jesus, obedience became easy for him. He said, "Nevertheless at Your Word." (Lk 5:5).
This kind of faith comes by hearing the Word of God again and again. Not just by reading, but by hearing- which means that we realize that it is actually God "speaking" to us whenever we read His Word. Hearing leads to believing, and believing helps obedience (Rom 10:16,17).
Obedience becomes difficult once the heart is hardened by unbelief. The writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews warns us, "Beware, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God" (Heb 3:12). When we realize that the one who calls us to obey is a "living God," we feel like a child relaxing with confidence into the bosom of its mother.

No anxiety. No worry.

He who obeys God, trusts God;
and he who trusts God, obeys God!
(C.H.Spurgeon, 1834-1892)

Unmerited divine assistance

2 Peter 3:18
If you have ever considered the subject of grace for very long, you know that it is almost impossible to understand the concept. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines graces as "unmerited divine assistance given humans for their sanctification." When looking at this definition, we see several things. First, we see that grace is unmerited; we are undeserving of it. Secondly, it is divine, meaning it comes from God alone. We can't receive grace or our salvation from any other source. And last, it provides sanctification, meaning we are freed from sin.

Truly our fellowship is with the Father

and with His Son Jesus Christ

( 1 john 1:3 )

This is our ultimate fellowship ! Knowing God. Communicating with Him - pouring out our hearts
to Him and hearing His desires, His plan for us, His purposes. Loving Him with all our hearts and
receiving an awareness of His vast love. Being at peace with God and knowing God's peace
in our hearts. Praising God and being filled with God's joy. Being in a position to say, "My God."

That is truly what it means to have fellowship with God.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you

Do not neglect the gift that is in you 1 Timothy 4:14

At the time you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, God gave you certain spiritual gifts to use in ministry to others.

The way in which you express those gifts is uniquely linked to the talents He has given you and the skills He has helped you develop. Nobody... on the earth.. is just like you, not even a sibling who is your twin...

You are a unique and very special creation of God, designed for a particular purpose on this earth that God has had in mind from eternity past.

Accept who God made you to be !!

GOD Needs people !

Please pray for the Myanmar ministries as the seeds that we sowed during every visit will definitely bring fruits in the future. Not only a praying group, we should also be “goers” as per the Great Commission. Please pray & prepare for the next mission trip to minister to this people with the anointing of the Holy spirit. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."(Acts 1:8) But satan always accuse people that you have no strength. You need more… more.. more.. “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you? ” The same Lord reminds us today also as he said to Gideon. People are in bondages, curses, poverty, tears and in paralytic condition. God has blessed and placed us in the Singapore very much. Take a step boldly and God will take care of rest……

As a follow up work at one of the village, we are praying & planning to support the outreach work (community centre) at a place called “South Dagon”. About 100 children gather whenever the ministry worker visit there. May the Lord of harvest bless and multiply this small work in that nation for the expansion of His kingdom.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2)

With Prayers,

“Come, Follow me! ”

MYANMAR VBS 2010 [Theme: “Come, Follow me! ” ]

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men”. Mark 1:17

By Gods grace, we were able to parttake in this wonderful VBS ministry this year in myanmar. VBS has been conducted in five centers at the same time. The volunteer groups have been splitted up in five teams and sent to these five centers. God answered all of our prayers and commanded better co-ordination of all the complicated work. God answered the prayers and provided good weather in order that children can stay well in the centers.

About 125 teachers gathered for the two days VBS training (24th & 25th) at the Lutheran Hall at Yangon. All the vbs work has been demonstrated practically and all the teachers were well prepared. On 26th morning, the children started to arrive from different places for the 3 days camping of VBS programme. The programme started at the evening and ended on 29th afternoon. By the grace of God, all the centres has no issues with the accommodation for children.

At the last day of VBS, the salvation message has been shared in all the centers. And an altar call been given, most of the children cried and accepted Jesus and pledged to follow Jesus. Surely heaven rejoiced at that time.

Teachers and Children’s devotions have been taken by our team members in the morning. At the evenings, debrief session and prayer session were conducted with team members.

Please pray for the follow up work after this VBS ministry. All the children will be followed up in the respective community center workers in different areas.

As we knew, word of God has a power to change lives. This is the third trip to Myanmar and we could see the difference in the people lives since after the first visit. We believe this little children when they go back home, they bring the new life and the light what they received during VBS. Please pray for all their families be saved. “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. (Isaiah 59:1)”

Glory be to God alone!
GODS PROMISE
Jere 31: 4
I will build you up again
and you will be rebuilt
, O Virgin Israel.
Again you will take up your tambourines
and go out to dance with the joyful.

Untold still Untold !

Untold still Untold!

Reading: John 1:1-12
"Christ is the propitiation for our sins;
and not for ours only but also for the whole world" (1 Jn 2:2)

Most of God's people are shortsighted. Some confine themselves to evangelise their own cities, districts or States. Still others feel they can care about people elsewhere only after all their own kith and kin are saved. Such Christians can never think of distant places till their lives last.
Meditate on the four Gospels carefully to understand how Jesus was burdened about the untold millions who were still outside the fold. He said, "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring" (Jn 10:16). His concern was always about the "other sheep." He refused to remain in one place. His ministry in Capernaum was a great blessing accompanied by many miracles. Therefore the crowds tried to keep Him back. But He left that place saying, "I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also" (Lk 4:42,43).
While His disciples had gone away to buy food, Jesus was conversing with a woman of Samaria about eternal life. She brought a whole lot of people from her village to hear Him. He told His disciples, "Lift up your eyes and look at the fields; for they are already white for harvest!" (Jn 4:35). The team had a rich harvest during their two day stay over there (vv 39-41). We must learn to look beyond. We should not keep on evangelising the evangelised. There are millions and millions sitting in darkness (Lk 1:79). They are awaiting their first opportunity to hear the gospel.
With Baby Jesus in his arms, Simeon blessed God saying, "My eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles" (Lk 2:31,32). The apostles of Jesus followed their Master's example. Paul said, "I have made it my aim to preach the gospel to whom He was not announced" (Rom 15:20,21).

When there are so many Taluks and Districts in India without a single Church, is it right that we start another Church where
there are already seven Churches? Is it justifiable to spend 10,00,000 rupees for flooring our Church building with marble stone instead of putting up a thatched roof for a worship shed costing just 10,000 rupees for the benefit of a poor tribal congregation?

Why should anyone hear the Gospel twice before
everyone has heard it once?
(Dr. Oswald J. Smith, 1889-1986)

PRAYER.. PRAYER...PRAYER

people always come for prayer wherever we go.. prayer.. prayer prayer... they are in need of more prayers... The anointed believers has to go for this kind of needy places.. instead of sitting in between four walls air-conditioned hall in "festival of praise" and revival after revival meetings... pls refer the verse isaiah 58:6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

Youth - altar call on Mar 27th

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of ones youth ( psalms 127:4)

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

"One thing is needful." Lk 10:42

THE things of time are transient, the things of eternity are
permanent. The world passeth away. The body must die; earthly
connexions must be dissolved; but the soul must live for ever.
The welfare of the soul is the one thing needful. If the soul is
in a sanctified and healthy state, it will be found at the feet
of Jesus; it will relish His words; and enjoy His communications
more than the riches feast. We shall be seeking to know Him,
love Him, believe Him, obey Him, and enjoy Him. Fellowship with
Jesus is needful as an evidence of interest in Him, and as a
source of satisfaction and comfort.
He that finds a home at the feet of Jesus, will enjoy an eternal
heaven in the presence of Jesus. Let not then the many trifles
of time affect, distract, and bewilder you; but let the one thing
needful be the constant object of pursuit and desire. Live at
the feet of Jesus, and you are safe. Seek, above all things, to
enjoy Jesus, and you will be happy. Aim in all things to glorify
Jesus, and you will be holy. Look daily for the coming of Jesus,
and you will be consistent.
O Jesus! manifest Thyself to me; draw me to Thy feet, and keep me
there!

My ways higher than your ways (Isaiah 55:9)

Our definition of what is good changes as we come to Christ and grow into His likeness. However, God always sees what is absolutely good for us.. He gives us only the things that are truly beneficial for our growth as His children and are beneficial for the advancement of His kingdom on this earth. The question to ask yourself if you have an unmet need today is this: Is this thing that I need something that God defines as good for my life?

Praying at the Youth Camp

Paul did not say to walk "after" christ..., he said to walk "in" Christ, rooted or abiding in Him. And, Paul added, be grateful for the life you have in Him. Be thankful for this abundant life you have been given in Christ. When you receive Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to indwell your spirit, and the very life that you begin to live is His life, manifested through your talents, your gifts, your personality, and in your circumstances and the context of your life.

MYANMAR MINISTRY - MAY 2010

Malachi 3:3

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it." If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.
